About Me.
Hi, my name is Maya and I am a creator.
I choose the title of creator intentionally as it illustrates my authentic role across time, in all spaces - creator of content, art, identity, relationships, community & change. I am also an activist, writer, musician, dog mama, and social media wizard. Born in Hawaii and raised in Oregon, I now live and work in sunny San Diego.

I am a recent college graduate with over five years of experience creating and managing digital projects for small businesses and advocacy campaigns. I aim to use my creative talents to advance social impact objectives and empower entrepreneurial ventures in the modern landscape. As a creative strategist for social change, I find innovative ways to grow movements. These include digital research and awareness raising, content creation, community organizing, coalition building, and intentional branding.
My involvement in social justice spaces as an educator, organizer, advocate, and campaign manager has given me valuable insight into the various processes behind change-making, project management, and organizational development. Focus areas of my work have included reproductive justice, gender-based violence prevention, behavior change, mental health care access, anti-human trafficking, and policy reform.

Throughout my career I have worn many hats and explored various different roles. Most recently I have worked as a digital marketing manager for a small local business, a non-profit case manager for youth survivors of human trafficking, and a freelance interior decorator. My mantra is that you can do anything if you take the time to learn how. I live by this notion. If I don't know, I'll learn. As a result I am constantly teaching myself new trades and skills, finding something new to feel passionate about each day, and using it to amplify the culture around me.
